- Comments Off on 2013 VW Golf: Bass package for a former car audio technician
When they leave our field, they know where they want to get work done because we are the technician’s choice!
The owner of this Golf came to us with a build with some equipment he ordered and some in storage that he described. We switched to some of our components once we actually started the build and the components were retrieved from storage. We provided a modest amplifier, as ours was much smaller than the one he initially was going to use and had in storage and there was no room for it and have a hidden installation. We selected a high end piece to do the amplifier integration with the factory radio and ensure the best signal quality possible.
We were also tasked with building a custom trunk panel so that the subwoofer could breathe and the factory piece would not have to be modified. Our finished panel was factory fit and finish [...]

- Comments Off on 2011 Ford F-150: The full range of sound quality
This discerning father and son approached us wanting to improve sound quality as a birthday present. We came up with a solution to deliver a marked improvement in the sound quality within a reasonable budget. We did not change the factory radio but added an amplifier, modified the door panels to provide enhanced sound but still look well integrated (component speaker upgraded where there was no factory component location) and added a single subwoofer under the rear seat. The rear stage was left factory but we pre-wired the installation so an upgrade of the rear speakers at a later date would require minimal duplicate work on our part to save the son as much as possible (that part of the build is going to get funded by his summer job).

- Comments Off on Sprinter Van: Workbench tools for the road, audio upgrades and backup camera
This long time customer in home and commercial audio/video integration brought us their new Sprinter Van for a number of upgrades over the first year that they had it in service. Over the past months, when the van was in town and not on the road, we added a custom subwoofer enclosure and five channel amplifier, door speakers, backup camera, new AV receiver and a power inverter to keep them entertained on the road and able to do the work they need to.
We usually only have it long enough to get the installation done and have not had a chance to snap photos of all the different components installed but did manage to get one of the inverter before they reconfigured the interior work space again.

- Comments Off on 2013 Honda Accord: Upgrade my factory sound but keep the factory radio
This customer came to us with a factory sound system that needed a lot of help. After listening to a couple different options, our demo car was what let them get a true understanding of what it sounds like to have a fully integrated and upgraded audio system.
A subwoofer, amplifier and upgraded speakers along with appropriate installation gear were selected to provide much better sound than factory but kept the car’s appearance and function unaltered.

- Comments Off on Subwoofer – 2015 Volkswagen Jetta
We see a common theme with the newer Volkswagens…sound quality (or quantity) doesn’t quite seem to be enough for the music enthusiast…
Having done some work for this customer’s vehicle (inverter installation), naturally, he came back a few days later after demoing some of our subwoofers. We ended up trying a couple of subwoofers in the trunk to find one that was both small and powerful enough for him.
He finally settled on a custom enclosure and carpet to match the OEM Volkswagen as closely as possible which we have made specifically for our current line of subwoofers. The amplifier and wiring were sized appropriately to ensure longevity and provide appropriate performance for subwoofer we selected together.

We did the work spread across a few visits to help him manage the project in his budget.
Visit #1: Install his high end component speakers in the front doors
Visit #2: Fabricate custom subwoofer enclosure for three 3″ subs (600W x 3 = 1800W)
Visit #3: OEM audio integration, amplifier installations, and component speakers for rear doors

- Comments Off on Full Sound System – 2008 Ford Mustang Convertible
This customer came to us wanting improved sound in their Mustang. The stock Shaker system was inadequate for their taste (especially when the OEM system in their other vehicle was better).
A new CD receiver, amplifier, full set of speakers and subwoofer was just what they needed to fill their ears with great sound with the wind in their hair. On time and on budget is what we did and the smiles were endless when they heard their new sound system for the the first time.

- Comments Off on Amplifier – 2009 Volkswagen New Beetle Cabrio
This VW Beetle was originally purchased by the owner for his daughter and without an amplifier. The previous owners replaced the speakers and radio with aftermarket parts but did so incorrectly. Our scope for this part of the project was to correctly install a 4-channel amplifier and ensure we could get the best sound possible from the equipment they had.
We found the 2-way coaxial speakers in the dash being driven by the radio and the door and rear speakers driven by the amplifier. After re-wiring everything correctly and tuning, we were able to provide them with better sound staging and less distortion as well as a cleaner installation that didn’t show exposed body sheet metal.

- Comments Off on Aftermarket Amplifier – 2010 Mazda 3
This customer came to us with a very sad Mazda. They did not have music for a number of months. Having worked on a few of these, we were quickly able to diagnose their problem as a malfunctioning factory amplifier.
We provided them the option of replacing with a factory amplifier or to upgrade to a more powerful aftermarket amplifier and they chose the aftermarket amp.
We were able to provide them with a very clean signal from their OEM receiver and absolutely no additional noise. This provided them with a system that would be capable of being upgraded at a later date with aftermarket speakers and a subwoofer to provide enhanced clarity and power handling.
The big bonus for them was the longer warranty period of our aftermarket equipment over a factory amplifier.
